1. How to drive to China Science and Technology Museum?

China Science and Technology Museum is a white and green building located on the Beichen East Road, one mile north from Olympic Stadium.

If you’re on the fourth ring road driving from east to west, drive past the An Hui Bridge and take the innermost lane of the main road. Take the viaduct towards Beichen East Road. Driving northwards and the Museum is on the western side of the fourth traffic-light road.

If you’re on the fourth ring road driving from west to east, enter into Beichen East Road after passing Bei Chen Bridge. Drive northwards and the Museum is on the western side of the fourth traffic-light road.

If you’re on the fifth ring road driving from west to east, take exit for Ao Lin East Road (No. 45) and drive southwards to Beichen East Road after passing Tianchen Bridge.

If you’re on the fifth ring road driving from east to west, take exit for Ao Lin East Road (No. 44) and drive southwards after passing Yang Shan Bridge. When you reach Datun North Road, turn left and drive straightforward.

2. Where to park?

Visitors who drive should park at Olympic Area Parking Lot which is at the south of the Museum. The parking lot is under the management of Olympic Area.

3. Where to buy the tickets?

The Museum ticket office is at the north side of the West Hall on the first ground, while the theatre ticket office is at the south side. Visitors can enter the West Gate to buy the tickets.

4. What’s the target audience for different exhibition halls?

There are the main exhibition hall and Science Paradise. The main exhibition hall is suitable for students as well as adults. Science Paradise is meant for preschool children aged from 3 to 7.

5. How long will it take to visit the Museum?

Normally, it takes at least 3 to 4 hours to visit the main exhibition hall, 2 to 3 hours to visit the Science Paradise and 8 to 45 minutes to watch a special-effect movie.

6. What are movies about?

There are four special-effect theaters in the Museum, Dome Theatre, Giant Screen Theater, Motion Theatre and 4D Theatre. Different theaters show special-effect movies to offer different environmental experiences. The screen of Dome Theatre is hemisphere, making visitors highly immersive. Giant Screen Theatre applies giant screen to show IMAX movies. Based on 3D effects, 4D movies apply environmental special effects (rain, wind, lightning etc.). 7. How many people are regarded as a group? Should group visitors reserve?

Social groups of more than 30 people are qualified to buy group tickets and are required to register and reserve on the internet in advance. Group tickets can’t be purchased in the ticket office on site without reservation.

8. Is there tour guide service in the Museum?

The exhibition halls emphasize interaction, encourage manual participation and advocate active learning and thinking. That’s why the Museum suggests visitors visit on their own. If there is any problem, visitors are invited to ask exhibition hall counselors and voice guides are free to use.

9. What service facilities does the Museum have?

The left-luggage service, free rental services of pram, wheelchair, umbrella etc. are provided in the Museum. ATMs, IC card public telephones, charge boxes and so on are also provided in the Hall.

10. What catering and merchandising services does the Museum provide?

For the convenience of visitors, there are souvenir shops and lounges from the first floor to the fourth floor. All kinds of souvenirs, toys and museum’s special commodities are available in the shops. Lounges can be found outside the ticket office (special-effect theater area) and on the second to the fourth floor. Lounge on the first floor mainly sells drinks and all kinds of fast food while lounges on the second to the fourth floor only sells cold and hot drinks. Attentions: No food allowed in the exhibition halls.
